The crankshaft then converts this reciprocating motion into rotational motion, and the flywheel helps store and release energy to make the operation smoother.

The lubrication system is equally important, consisting of the oil pump, oil filter, and oil passages. The oil pump delivers oil to all friction surfaces, forming an oil film to reduce wear, while also carrying away some heat and impurities, thereby extending the engine's lifespan.
The fuel supply system is responsible for delivering gasoline or diesel into the cylinder at appropriate pressure and atomization. It includes the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, and injector. The injector acts like a small nozzle, atomizing the fuel into a mist, which mixes with air and burns more easily.
